Attendance & Coursework
Students are expected to complete all lessons in full in order to meet the academic requirements to graduate from the course. However, life happens, and we will attempt to support you to the end of your learning as much as possible.
Coursework
Deadlines for coursework will be given during the first session of the course or at the time the course work is assigned. All coursework must be submitted in order for the student to graduate and receive their certificate. Late submissions for coursework may result in delayed feedback and may delay their graduation. Coursework submitted more than three months after the course end date may not be accepted.
Missing Training Hours
Students may accrue emergency or pre-organised absences amounting to a maximum of 32 hours, or two weekends, of the 200 hour yoga teacher training course. There are two options to make up lost hours, as follows:
• For lecture-based classes, students may catch up via a video of the missed lecture for a fee of £20/two-hour lesson missed, up to a total of 16 hours.
• Any additional hours must be made up in person in order to maintain the amount of contact hours mandated by YogaAlliance. A two-hour lesson may be replaced by a one hour one-to-one with a faculty member for a fee of £65/hour.
Students must inform the course leader of any pre-organised absences (e.g. weddings, moving house, etc.) as early as possible. In the case of any emergency absences (e.g. medical emergencies, bereavements) please notify your course leader as soon as possible. All missing training hours should be made up within three months of the course end date. The school reserves the right to waive any of these fees in extenuating circumstances.
Tardiness
Students are expected to attend classes on time at the beginning of the day and after breaks and lunch. Students who are late by more than 15 minutes will be allowed into class at the discretion of the instructor. Consistent lateness is not acceptable and may lead to a conversation between the student and course leader. Absences due to tardiness will count towards the allowed 32 hours of absence and must be made up as per the above.
Withdrawal Policy
If a student wishes to withdraw from their UKYC program for any reason, they must first contact the program director to discuss their reasons for withdrawal. Refunds will be given in accordance with the program’s refund policy.
Termination from Program
The program may decide to terminate any student’s participation in the program if:
a. false information was used in the admission process that materially affects the program;
b. a student misses more than the allotted 32 hours of in-class learning;
c. a student is absent for more than five consecutive training days without contacting the program director;
d. the student fails to make timely payments of tuition; or
e. the student is unable to pass a final assessment after being given three attempts.
If the program decides to end the student’s participation in the program, the student is not entitled to any prior payments or fees. All prior payments and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Termination Due to Misconduct
No refunds will be given if the program removes a student from the program for bad conduct. Bad conduct is violation of the Code of Conduct or Anti-Harassment Policy, gossip, bullying, or any other behaviour that is inappropriate or disruptive to the welfare of the program or to fellow students.
